Initiated by FAIRmat and Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB), the symposium brings together five major materials-oriented research institutions in Berlin to discuss how research can successfully transition into the age of artificial intelligence. In this context, research data are both a key resource and a treasure. The symposium provides a platform to explore the opportunities and challenges of this digital transformation.
The scientific program features invited talks by international experts, followed by discussions and opportunities for exchange across the materials science community. The symposium will also include the signing of a memorandum of understanding to underscore the collaboration between FAIRmat, HZB, the Leibniz Institute for Crystal Growth (IKZ), the Paul Drude Institute for Solid State Electronics (PDI), and the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM).
The event also celebrates FAIRmat's recent recognition with the European Digital Skills Award, presented by Henna Virkkunen, Executive Vice-President of the European Commission, in Brussels on June 30.
