In the first funding period, FAIRmat developed a broad portfolio of services, collectively referred to as the NOMAD ecosystem, supporting FAIR research data management and community-driven infrastructure development. These services power both the public NOMAD Central platform and more than 80 NOMAD Oasis deployments operated by research institutions across Germany, Europe, and beyond. Recent activities within the NFDI Managementkreis and related working groups have highlighted the need for a common framework for describing and documenting services across the NFDI, harmonizing terminology, and establishing a shared understanding of use cases associated with these services.
This session will provide an overview of the FAIRmat service portfolio, introducing a common language for describing and organizing FAIRmat services in alignment with emerging NFDI terminology. We will explore how use cases complement the portfolio by demonstrating how services are adopted, combined, and applied in real-world scenarios. To this end, we will showcase the NOMAD Gallery, a platform for documenting and sharing features, datasets, workflows, and research applications within the NOMAD ecosystem. Participants will gain a clearer understanding of the available services, their intended uses, and how they fit together within the broader NOMAD ecosystem.
