DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Hampus Näsström (Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin\,
FAIRmat)\, Joseph Rudzinski (Humboldt University)\n\nIn the rapidly evolv
ing landscape of data-centric research\, modern strategies for data manage
ment\, sharing\, and publication are essential. NOMAD is a web-based platf
orm developed by the NFDI consortium FAIRmat to address these challenges.
It has pioneered the application of FAIR principles (Findable\, Accessible
\, Interoperable\, and Reusable) to materials science data\, emerging now
as a fully-customizable\, global platform for harnessing the full potentia
 l of research data.To introduce NOMAD to a wider audience\, we’re going
on tour. Our experts\, Hampus Näsström (Use Cases Technical Coordinator)
and Joseph F. Rudzinski (Theory & Computation Coordinator)\, will lead a
NOMAD tutorial at several locations\, with support from local hosts: Marti
 n Girard\, Hongbin Zhao\, Alexander Welle\, and Tristan Bereau.Join us in
Mainz\, Darmstadt\, or Heidelberg from May 19 to 22. (Please note: the tut
orial in Karlsruhe has been cancelled.) Each stop will feature two parts:
a seminar and a hands-on tutorial. The seminar will showcase NOMAD’s rem
arkable journey—from a repository for ab initio calculations to a compre
hensive ecosystem for research data management. In the tutorial that foll
ows\, you can choose one of the following topics to explore NOMAD’s capa
 bilities:Project and workflow management: organize\, process\, share\, and
publish datasets\; interact programmatically via a simple Python API\; cu
stomize entries and workflows.Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELNs): use NOMAD
’s ELN interface and built-in schemas and learn how to extend them.Plugi
 n development: create a plugin repository using a cookie-cutter template\;
transform custom YAML/JSON schemas into Python code\; add automation and
plotting features.Local infrastructure setup: install and configure your o
wn NOMAD Oasis\; set up CI pipelines and create custom images with plugins
.Registration is mandatory\, and places are limited—don’t wait to secu
 re your spot!\n\nhttps://events.fairmat-nfdi.eu/event/39/
