Description

Research data management is becoming increasingly important. This is due to the growing variety of data types, formats, and volumes generated by scientific research. Furthermore, there is a rising need to make data accessible and understandable, necessitating the standardizing, managing, and planning of the data life-cycle. As a result, many funding agencies now mandate a data management plan (DMP) as part of submitted research proposals. While some scientific bodies offer DMP templates, there is no one-size-fits-all solution due to the heterogeneity of data generated across different scientific disciplines. As an example, FAIRmat is working to enhance data literacy on DMPs and guide physicists and materials scientists in writing DMPs that meet the requirements of the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft,DFG).
In this poster, we present the FAIRmat guide for writing a data management plan. The guide outlines the necessary sections and provides tips on what to include in each section.
